Bowling Competes at Regional Tournament

The FMCC men's and women's bowling teams competed on Sunday at Regionals held in Utica.  The men finished 7th out of 8 teams and the Women finished 6th out of 7 teams.

"Once again, consistency was a problem with both teams. We will bowl a couple of good games and throw in a real clunker. We just don't seem to adapt to lane conditions as quickly as other teams and it costs us. The women's team was missing our #3 bowler, Shea Weaver, who was out with an injury. We just aren't deep enough to absorb that kind of loss and it probably cost us a couple of hundred pins over eight games", commented Coach Tom Rathbun.

Makayla Williams had another strong outing for the Lady Raiders. "Makayla was in second place going into the last game for singles honors. She didn't roll a bad game at 170, but the girls right behind her bowled a little better and she finished 5th, 29 pins out of second", stated Coach Rathbun.

Williams finished 8th overall for the day. Other high scores for the day were Ally Colp with a 183, Angel LaFreniere 164, Shayla Staves 161, and Kendra Sweet with a 153.

Richard Taylor posted high scores of 234 and 200. Other scores were Bryan Green 212, 211, David Servello and Brandon Little 217, Robert Ward 207, and Charlie Cusano with a 164.

Final competition for the Raiders this year will be in Buffalo at the NJCAA National Tournament held March 1-3rd
