The FMCC student-athletes gathered at HFM Boces Wednesday evening to celebrate another successful academic and athletic year. Each coach had the opportunity to acknowledge the Raiders for their many accomplishments on the playing field and in the classroom.
Chris Rogers, Coordinator for Student Athlete Academic Success presented academic awards. Eleven student-athletes were recognized for their grade point average being a 3.5 or better. Forty student-athletes were honored as members of FM's "3.0 club," which recognizes those that have a grade point average above a 3.0.
The academic athletes of the year were honored. The female and male Academic Athletes of the year are volleyball's Megan Ryder and soccer's Austin Heroth. The most improved academic student athletes were softball's Sadja Montesir and basketball's Brandon Cooper. Women's Volleyball, baseball and soccer were honored for the highest team GPA's.
The female Athlete of the Year award went to three sport athlete, Julie Hampton. The male athlete of the year was presented to men's basketball Dante Morgan. Volleyball Coach Rachael Salvione was honored for being named Conference Coach of the Year.
