Men's and Women's Basketball Fall to Onondaga

The men's and women's basketball teams fell on the road against Onondaga Community College.  The Lady Raiders fell 55-59 and the men lost a triple overtime thriller 98-101.

The women's basketball team jumped out to a fast 16-9 first quarter lead.  The Lazers outscored FM in the second quarter, but the Lady Raiders led 28-25 heading into halftime.  Onondaga's 2-3 zone was tough down the stretch and the Lazers were able to lead 54-48 with 4:26 remaining in the contest.  FM used full court pressure to go on a 7-0 run down the stretch, but it wasn't enough.

DiAsia Deboue led with 17 points for FM and Niaimani Marshall followed with 13.  McKiea Weekes finished with 12 points and 22 rebounds.

The men's basketball team lost a tough one in three overtime periods against the Lazers.  In regulation, FM led 71-69 with 18 seconds remaining.  The Lazers made a defensive stop and forced a foul to send the game to overtime.  Both teams exchanged baskets in the first overtime and headed to the second overtime tied at 81. 

FM took an 88-85 lead in the second overtime, but were not able to hang onto the lead.  In the third and final overtime FM sent the Lazers to the foul line with 2.2 seconds left to secure the 101-98 victory.

The men's basketball team will host SUNY Adirondack on Saturday, November 17th at 3:00 p.m.  The women are back in action on Sunday, November 18th when they host Jefferson Community College at 1:00 p.m.
