Bowling Competes at Second Conference Match

Andrew Bauer approaches the lane for a throw.
Andrew Bauer paced the Raiders with scored of 246, 216 and 214.
The FMCC Raider bowling team competed in their second conference match on Friday. Herkimer College was the host and once again the Raiders finished in 4th place.

"While the results were the same, this time we were far more competitive. Our two Captains, Andrew Bauer and Evan Sawitzki, stepped up and posted some fine scores. We continue to practice well, but we are somewhat at a disadvantage as we are just one bowler short of moving up in the standings. We had nine bowlers in December and are now done to six. I am proud of the effort put forth on Friday," stated Coach Tom Rathbun.

Co-Captain Andrew Bauer paced the Raiders with scores of 246,216, and 214 for a total of 676. The other Co-Captain, Evan Sawitzki posted high scores of 248 and 201. Steven Hulbert was the third bowler to list a 200+ game with a 247.

The Raiders next conference match is Thursday, February 2nd at 1 PM, at Kingpin in Rome. Next weekend the team will travel twice to Schenectady as they will participate in the Boulevard Classic on Saturday and the SCCC Invitational on Sunday.

"The entire coaching staff and team wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to Coach Todd Wheaton's family. Rest In Peace Coach, a piece of Raider Nation is now gone, you will be missed," stated Rathbun.
