The FMCC bowling team had it's best results of the year on Sunday, posting a fine 4th place finish in a 12 team field. The tournament was the SCCC Invitational and was held at Boulevard Lanes in Schenectady.

"For one of the few times this year we had a full roster on Sunday, and everyone bowled so well. There was a lot of bowling the past three days. A Conference match on Thursday, a seemingly endless 10-hour tournament on Saturday at Boulevard, and the Sunday tournament. Everyone was a little tired and sore, but they dug down and came through. Due to conflicts with academics and employment we can't always have a full roster and I'm ok with that, after all, we are an academic institution and that always comes first," stated Coach Tom Rathbun.

Steven Hulbert (Johnstown) paced the Raiders on Sunday with an average of 190.8, with high games of 225 and 200, and finished 12th overall among 64 bowlers. Co-Captain Andrew Bauer (Shen) had a 185 average with a high game of 204.

Joe VanAvery (Ft.Plain) wasn't far behind with a 182.6 average and high games of 205 and 190 (twice). Gabby Jenks (Ft. Plain) was next with a very consistent 178.6 average, her high game was a 183. Co-Captain Evan Sawitzki (BG-ND) had a high game of 183 and a 164 average. Kyle Davis (Fonda-Fultonville) also had a consistent day with a 158 average.

FM's next Conference match will be on Tuesday, February 7th. Hudson Valley Community College will host at East Greenbush Bowling Center, with a 2:30 p.m. start time.
