The FMCC Raiders Bowling team traveled to King Pin Lanes on Saturday to compete in the Region III Bowling Championship and finished 5th overall.

"It was somewhat of a disappointing day. We started out pretty well but as the day went on and lane conditions continued to change, we just didn't adjust as well as some of the other teams. The effort was certainly there, they never quit, the results just weren't what we expected and had hoped for," stated Coach Tom Rathbun.

Senior, Andrew Bauer posted the best overall results as he finished 13th out of 39 bowlers. Fellow Co-Captain and Senior Evan Sawitzki was the second highest finisher for FM as he ended up 17th.

Some of the high scores for the day were Andrew Bauer with 223, 219, and a pair of 191's. Evan had high games of 206 and 185. Joe VanAvery posted games of 203 and 197. Gabby Jenks threw a 209 and 177. Steven Hulbert had a 181 and 173. Kyle Davis' high was 173. Newcomer, Massa Masri participated in the Baker Matches and performed well for the Raiders.

Andrew Bauer and Steven Hulbert had a strong showing in the doubles competition. They finished 5th overall out of 20 teams.

The team will take a little time off this week and then begin to prepare for Nationals in Buffalo on Mar 2nd-4th.
