After a monumental 2022-23 athletic season, the FMCC student-athletes and coaches gathered on Monday, May 7th to celebrate the successful athletic and academic year.
The season featured three Region 3 Titles, three conference champions, three National Tournament appearances, two first-team All-Americans, and several individual and coaching honors. Each coach had the opportunity to acknowledge the Raiders for their many accomplishments on the playing field and in the classroom.
The academic athletes of the year were honored. The female and male Academic Athletes of the year were volleyball's Deandra Myers and cross country's Paul Lomanto.
The female Co-Athlete of the Year award went to volleyball's Madelyn Avery and basketball's Kiya Marquez. The male athlete of the year was presented to De'Vante Mateo of the men's basketball team.
Several members of the coaching staff were honored for their coach of the year awards. Dave Clayton (men's soccer) was honored as Region 3 and Conference Coach of the Year. Tina Olyer (volleyball) was Conference Coach of the Year. Ej Gallup (men's basketball) was Region 3, Mountain Valley Conference and North District Coach of the Year. And Kevin Jones (women's basketball) was the District A Coach of the Year.
