Fulton Montgomery Community College Men's Head Basketball Coach, Ej Gallup is back in action on the sidelines of The Basketball Tournament (TBT) on ESPN. Gallup will once again be the Head Coach of the 2023 "The Money Team" and will lead the talented roster throughout a 64-team single elimination tournament for 1 million dollars.
Gallup is very familiar with the TBT where he played alongside Jimmer Fredette in a final four run in 2018. Last summer, Gallup led The Money Team to the Sweet Sixteen in Dayton, Ohio, where they fell to The Red Scare.
This summer, he is back with high hopes to lead his team to the top of TBT. Ej will take the sidelines this year with former Gloversville boys basketball coach and current Shaker High School Head Coach, Aric Kucel as an Assistant. The team is loaded with talent like Corey Davis, Jordon Crawford and Trevor Booker.
The Money Team drew the #3 seed and will play out of the Xavier Region. They will take on #6 Nasty Nati (Cincinnati) on Friday, July 21st in the first round. The game is set for 6:00 PM EST on ESPN+. Gallup just completed his second season as the Head Coach of the FMCC Raiders Men's Basketball Team. In just his 2nd season on the sidelines, Gallup led his team to a 20-8 (22-23) record. The Raiders secured a 2023 Region 3 Title over the #1 Seeded Mohawk Valley Hawks and he also led his team to the 2023 NJCAA Championship Tournament for the first time since 2007.
Gallup was also named 2023 Region 3 Coach of the Year, North District Coach of the Year and Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year. His career record sits at an impressive 31-19 in just two seasons at the helm.
