The FMCC Bowling team has been gearing up for the start of their 2024 season. The Raiders are coming off a strong 2023 season where they finished 5th in the Region and 14th at the National Tournament. Steven Hulbert, Evan Sawitzki and Andrew Bauer all earned conference honors last season.

The squad has been practicing since October and will field a full women's team. The Lady Raiders will be led by Gabby Jenks and Crystal Coleman. Both are experienced, very competitive, and provide leadership to the rest of the team as Captains. First year bowler Kyleigh Lindsey joins the team from a successful program at Schoharie High School and has shown steady improvement. Two other ladies are bowling competitive for the first time, Joanna Whitman and Marque Herr.

On the Men's side, Steven Hulbert returns from last year's team and was a 2nd team All-Conference bowler last year, narrowly missing 1st team honors. Steven is passionate about his game and works very hard at it. Joining him will be Hayden Auspelmeyer from Fonda-Fultonville, a first-year bowler who has performed very well in practice.

"Everyone works hard at their game and a steady improvement has been quite noticeable. In November, we bowled at the RIT Tournament in Rochester as a mixed team and gained some valuable experience. I'm very excited about our Women's team. I think they have a legitimate shot at winning the Conference and will make a serious run at winning Regionals. They all get along and are very supportive of each other. On the Men's side, while the team is incomplete, both Steven and Hayden can still compete for All-Conference honors," stated Coach Tom Rathbun.

The Raiders will begin their season on Wednesday, January 17th when they host their first Conference match at Arterial Lanes in Gloversville at 1:00 p.m.
