Bowling Has Strong Showing at Conference Match

The FMCC Women's bowling team posted some of their best scores of the season during Conference play at Vista Lanes in Utica on Friday. The Raiders finished 2nd to Herkimer and ahead of MVCC.
 
In the first three game series, Co-captain Gabriella Jenks posted her best series of the season with scores of 177, 190, and 224 for a 591 total. Not being satisfied with that, in the next series she rolled a 189, 201, and 226 for a 616. Joanna Whitman wasn't far behind with tallies of 182, 199, and 224 for a 605 total. Co-captain, Crystal Coleman had high games of 223, and 179.
 
First year bowler Kyleigh Lindsey averaged 155 for the day posting a high game of 173. Marque Herr had a high game of 132 as she continues to learn the game.
 
"In any other year those scores would have been good enough to win on just about any day, but Herkimer is loaded. I'm proud of our effort as the ladies continue to improve," commented Coach Tom Rathbun.  
 
The men's team also had a good day. First year bowler, Hayden Auspelmyer posted his best series of the year when he rolled a 235, 265, and 202 for a 702 total. He followed that up in the second series with games of 278, 193, 213 for a 684 total. Captain Steven Hulbert started with a first series of 585 and finished strong in the second series posting a 689, his last two scores being a 235, and 247.
 
The Raiders final Conference match will be January 7th in East Greenbush. They will take part in the Boulevard Classic on Saturday, February 3rd in Schenectady.
