Head Coach Dave Hennessey led the 2014 Raiders to a postseason berth in the regional final-eight playoffs. Returnees from that squad and incoming freshmen players give Raiders fans high hopes for the upcoming season.

Hennessey became FM baseball’s Head Coach for the 2012-13 season, bringing a wealth of coaching experience, success, and love of the game. As a player, Hennessey caught for Amsterdam High School and for the University at Albany. His coaching abilities became apparent at UAlbany, and he ended his college playing career there in 1986 by serving as both the starting catcher and as a player-coach.

Prior to joining FM, Hennessey was Head Coach at Hudson Valley Community College from 2006 to 2012. His record at HVCC was a sterling 165-93-1.  His teams won four Mountain Valley Conference (MVC) championships and one Region 3 championship. They competed in the Region 3 finals eight times and went to the NJCAA World Series in 2008, finishing fifth in the nation. Hennessey was named MVC Coach of the Year twice and Region 3 Coach of the Year in 2008.

He also served as the Vikings’ assistant coach from 2003-2006. During that time his teams went 101-41.

Hennessey began his post-college coaching career as an assistant baseball coach at UAlbany, serving in that capacity for nine years.  Coach Hennessey also served as an assistant baseball coach at Columbia High School for three years, and he was Head Coach of the Melvin Roads American Legion team from 1995 to 2006. His Legion teams compiled a record of 257-147. That club was the first in New York State Legion Baseball to compete in the states three years in a row.

The Raiders' fifth win of the 2015 season was Coach Hennessey's 200th win as a collegiate head coach.
