James Waters – Baseball – Male Raider of the Month, March 2015

James Waters

The male Raider of the Month for March is James Waters. The rugged and versatile senior was a mainstay of the 2014 FM ballclub and is off to another solid start this season. (You can click here for Water’s 2014 bio.)

Waters is a sure-handed first baseman who can play several positions, including the hot corner at third base.

The current, 2015 Raiders have played nine games in Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina, but have not yet begun the northern portion of their schedule because the weather has prevented the fields from being playable.

Waters was among the Raiders’ best batters during that southern swing, batting .353 and slugging .529. He drove in seven runs during those nine games, which tied him with Chris Rockefeller for the team lead in RBI. He’s also tied for the team lead in fielding percentage with a sterling mark of .957.

Waters will be a key player in FM’s compact April and early-May schedule. Raider fans will hope that the Criminal Justice major can continue to enjoy his success on the field and in the batters’ box.
