The Male Raider of the Month for February is Dylan O'Connor. Dylan came a long way to become a Raider, as he is from Australia. Since the first day Dylan arrived at FMCC, you knew he was serious about becoming a successful student and basketball player. Dylan's work ethic is tremendous. He gets A's in the classroom and his effort would get an A+ on the basketball court. Although Dylan struggled adjusting to college basketball in the first semester, he continued to have a great attitude and was always the first one at practice and the last to leave.
Dylan's hard work paid off in the second semester, as he worked his way into becoming a starting guard. Dylan puts up hundreds of extra shots every day before and after practice. His work has paid off as he has become FM's best shooter from the three point line.
Dylan made 22 3's in 8 games in the month of February. He made more than 2 in 6 of the 8 games and also scored in double figures in 6 games. Dylan finished the season strong by hitting 9 3's in his last 2 games. They included 4 in a great come from behind win over rival Mohawk Valley and 5 in a dominant performance over Columbia Greene. Both wins avenged earlier losses to those teams. Dylan is only a freshmen and is expected to be a key player and leader on next year's team.
