UTICA – The Raiders and the Hawks of Mohawk Valley CC split a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. FM won Game One 3-2, and MV won the second game 6-5.
Both teams are vying for a spot in the postseason playoffs. Both FM and MV are strong contenders to be among the four schools from eastern New York that will be awarded playoff berths.

Game One
FM's Christian Maldonado was on the mound. The freshman righty pitched another strong game. Maldonado went the distance, scattering six MV hits.
Catcher Andrew Houser went one-for-three at the plate and drove in a run. Designated Hitter Dennis Buckley was two-for-three with a run batted in.

Game Two
Buckley continued to have success at the plate. He went one-for-two and drove in another run. FM's Shawn Strong, who is from the Utica area, went one-for-one with an RBI.
The game was tied going into the seventh inning.
