HERKIMER – The Herkimer Generals are the region's top-ranked team. The Raiders gave them a very good run in Game One on Thursday. The Generals edged FM 5-4 in that game. The home team then rolled to an easy 10-0 win the Game Two.
Game One
Christian Maldonado stepped onto the mound for FM, and once again pitched a strong game. Maldonado allowed the Generals just three earned runs. He struck out four and walked only two while taking the hard-luck loss.

Four FM batsmen hit singles. Four Herkimer players also managed singles and one, Gage Lanning, slammed a solo home run.

Game Two
The Generals scored in both the early and late innings while cruising to the win. The Herkimer pitcher, Pat Merryweather, held the Raiders in check and tossed a one-hitter.
FM center fielder Chris Rockefeller got the Raiders' only hit, a double. The Generals banged out nine singles and a double.
The Raiders will travel to Plattsburgh on Saturday to meet Clinton CC. The Cougars are still seeking their first win of the season. Clinton and FM will meet again at FM on Sunday for a doubleheader that starts at 1:00 p.m.
