Raiders Split With Hawks

The Raiders baseball team traveled to Mohawk Valley for the final two games of the series.  The Hawks took Game one 9-3, but the Raiders bounced back to win Game two 6-3. 

Ryan McNamara racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Raiders. He homered in the first inning. Kyle Agresta was charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked six and struck out two.

The top of the first saw the Raiders take an early lead, 2-0. Ryan McNamara homered, bringing home DaShon Boyles after a single by Agresta got things started.

It didn't take long for Mohawk Valley to answer as it scored three runs of its own in the first. Mohawk Valley CC scored on a three-run home run by Cunningham.  The lead stayed with Hawks after the third, when it scored three runs on a three-run home run by Chmielewski.

Mohawk Valley CC tacked on another two runs in the fourth and FM scored another run in the 3rd, but it wasn't enough as the Hawks took the Game 1 victory.  

In Game two the Raiders bounced back and played behind pitcher Jake Petralia and solid hitting from McNamara. Petralia picked up the win, he allowed two earned runs, five hits and two walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.  McNamara went 2-3, sparking the Raiders to a 6-3 victory in seven innings.

The top of the first saw the FMCC Raiders take an early lead, 2-0. The scoreboard lit up again for the Raiders when Agresta scored on a sacrifice fly by Ayden Healy.

Mohawk Valley CC tied the game in the second on a two-run double. The lead stayed with the Raiders after the third, when they scored two runs on a sacrifice fly by Healy and an RBI single by Paul VanWarner

The Raiders tacked on another two runs in the fourth. Ryan McNamara's single got things going, plating Patrick Hart.

One run in the bottom of the sixth helped Mohawk Valley close its deficit to 6-3. Finally, Petralia got Dylan Lee to strike out to end the threat. 

FM is set to play Hudson Valley Community College in a weekend series.  FM hosts HV on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
