Raiders Sweep Twins

The FMCC Raiders jumped on the Columbia-Greene Twins early, on their way to an 8-4 win in Game 1 of a double header on Thursday at Columbia-Greene Community College.

The Raiders scored six runs in the first inning on a two-run single by Ryan McNamara, an error, an RBI single by Patrick Hart, and a two-run double by Lucas Calkins.

Baylee Hall got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed four runs over seven innings. Hall struck out four, walked six and gave up six hits.

The FMCC Raiders scored one run in the fifth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the sixth. In the fifth, the Raiders scored on a solo home run by DaShon Boyles and went on to win 8-4.

After six lead changes in Game 2, the Raiders pulled out a 5-3 win over the Twins in eight innings. Justin Putnam was stellar on the mound for FM on the way to a win. He allowed just three runs over eight innings. He struck out nine, walked three and surrendered five hits.

The Raiders pulled out the win thanks to a strong eighth inning. The FMCC Raiders scored the winning run on an RBI double by Jake Petralia, scoring McNamara.  

The top of the first saw the FMCC Raiders take an early lead, 1-0.  FM pushed across one run in both the third inning and the sixth. In the third, the FMCC Raiders scored on an error, scoring Ayden Healy.

On Saturday at 2:00 p.m., the FM baseball squad will be hosting a Memorial Baseball Game in honor of former FM baseball player Kevin Chrisman.  The Raiders are set to take on the Royals of Schenectady CC.  Kevin's high school team, Little Falls, will take on West Canada on the FM field at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.  A scholarship donation and presentation will take place between games.
