The 2017 season got underway for the Raiders Baseball Team as they went 1-5 against some tough competition in Myrtle Beach

The squad played against Central Missouri College in its first game and lost 6-5 on a walk-off hit. Pat Hart went the distance for FM giving up 8 hits and 4 earned runs.  Kyle Agresta and Kyle Sherlock led the Raiders offensively with 2 hits each and Agresta picked up an RBI.

FM then suffered a 15-7 loss to Harper College after they took the lead for good with 13 runs in the fourth inning.  Sherlock and Ryan McNamara each collected multiple hits for the Raiders. McNamara, Coby Caraballo, and Richard Umholtz each drove in two runs to lead FM.

The Raiders played solid defense against Ocean County College, but it wasn't enough as they dropped the contest 7-4.  Ryan Cullam led the Raiders with 3 hits in 3 at bats.  FM matched up against Ocean County College again later in the week and came up just short again 3-2, but the offense came alive with 9 hits for the Raiders.

Kyle Agresta took a tough loss against Southern Maryland, he was solid on the mound. He went seven innings, giving up just two runs, five hits, and striking out six.  Cory Moore went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Raiders.

FM finished out the week hungry as they came out on top with a 7-4 win against Garrett College.  Justin Putnam earned the win allowing ten hits and struck out three.  Cullam and McNamara each had singles for FM.  Agresta, Sherlock, Cullam, Jake Petralia and Hart each drove in runs to lead the Raiders.

FM will now prepare for its northern season when they host Jefferson Community College on April 2nd, weather permitting.
