Baseball Drops Four Game Series to Hudson Valley

The FM baseball team dropped a four game series to the Hudson Valley Vikings this week.  On Tuesday they traveled to Joe Bruno Stadium to take on the Vikings and dropped both games 17-1 and 14-4.  On Thursday the Vikings traveled to FM and the Raiders lost an offensive battle 21-16 and 11-7.

Game 1: 17-1

HVCC took and early 14-0 lead over FM in the first three innings, as they pounded out 12 hits in the game.  FM managed three hits coming from Jake Petralia and Kyle Agresta with doubles and Paul VanWarner had a single.   Brigan Barker had the lone RBI for FM scoring Coby CaraballoKyle Sherlock took the loss for the Raiders going on and on-third innings.  He gave up nine runs and five this.

Game 2: 14-4

FM took an early lead in the first inning when Kyle Agresta ripped a triple and drove in two runs. Hudson Valley tied the game at three in the bottom of the third and would take the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning.  Agresta went 2-3 at the plate and Cory Moore, Ryan Cullam, Ryan McNamara, Brogan Barker, and Paul VanWarner each had singles for FM.  

Game 3: 21-16

This time around the Raiders were hosting the Vikings for two games and it was an offensive affair.  The teams combined for 33 hits and 37 runs.  FM had their chances, but HV prevailed 21-16.  The Raiders pounded out 11 hits.  Patrick HartKyle Sherlock, and Brogan Barker each collected multiple hits for FM.  Hart went 3-for-5 at the plate as he led the team with four runs batted in. Hart also took the loss for FM on the mound.  He threw five innings, surrendering 14 runs, 13 hits, and striking out seven

Game 4: 11-7

The final game of the series was called after 5 innings due to darkness.  FM tied the game 2-2 in the second inning and scored three runs in the fifth inning off of a Jake Petralia double and Ryan Cullam single.  Despite the loss FM had 11 hits.  Kyle Agresta,  Cullam, Patrick Hart, and  Petralia each collected multiple hits.   Ryan McNamara and Cullam each drove in two runs to lead the Raiders.

FM will travel to Jefferson CC on Saturday for another double header.
