Baseball Falls Short in Series Against Herkimer

The Raiders Baseball squad fell to the always tough Herkimer Generals in a four game series.  The Raiders fell to Herkimer on the road on Sunday 1-7 and 0-10.  The Generals invaded Raiders field on Monday and FM fell 16-18 and 1-12.

Game One at Herkimer

FM fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 7-1 loss.  The Generals captured the lead in the second inning on a wild pitch.  Herkimer scored four runs in the sixth inning and FM sent one run across the plate.

Richard Umholtz took the loss for the Raiders.  He went six innings, allowing seven runs, nine hits, and struck out eight.  Ryan McNamara went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits. 

Game Two at Herkimer

The Raiders fell behind early in game two and couldn't come back in a 10-0 loss on Sunday.  Justin Putnam took the loss for the Raiders. He went three innings, giving up nine runs, six hits, and striking out one.  Cory Moore, Ryan McNamara, Brogan Barker, Kyle Sherlock, and Patrick Hart each collected one hit.

Game One at FMCC

The Raiders effort to come back from down five runs in the seventh inning came up just short, as they fell 18-16 to Herkimer at home on Monday.  Both teams exchanged the lead back and forth all game.  FM had 16 hits in the game.  Kyle Agresta, Patrick Hard, Ryan McNamara, Cory Moore and Jake Petralia each collected multiple hits.  Hart and Agresta each collected three hits to lead the Raiders.

Game Two at FMCC

The Raiders couldn't get much going in game two of the series finale.  FM had score just one run in the 4th inning to suffer a 12-1 loss.  Petralia, Moore, McNamara, Ryan Cullam,  Agresta, and Andrew Marciniak each collected one hit to lead FM. 

FM's next contest will be this weekend when they play the Adirondack Timberwolves in a four game series.  FM will travel to East Field on Saturday and will host Adirondack on Sunday.
