Baseball Wins Three In a Row

The Raiders baseball team extended its win streak to three, with wins over Columbia Greene in a four game series.   FM dropped game one 4-5, but bounced back to win the next three; 17-7, 12-2, and 6-0.

Game One

FMCC stayed in it until the end, but Columbia-Greene Community College pulled away late in a 5-4 victory.  The Raiders were ahead 4-1 in the top of the sixth inning when the Twins hit a grand slam, driving in four runs.

Kyle Agresta took the loss for FM. He tossed five and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs, six hits, and striking out five.  Pat Hart led the Raiders with two hits, and Jake Petralia and Agresta each had a hit. 

Game Two

The Raiders collected 11 hits in a 17-7 victory.  With two outs in the first inning Jake Petralia drove in one run when he tripled.  FM took the lead for good with seven runs in the third inning.  Kyle Sherlock started the game, he pitched two innings, giving up five runs and on two hits.  Coby Carabollo earned the win for Fm, he tossed three innings, allowing two runs, two hits, and striking out two. Richard Umholtz, Ryan CullamRyan McNamara and Petralia all had two hits to lead FM.

Game Three

FM traveled to Columbia-Greene for the final two games of the series and came out on top 12-2. The Raiders scored five runs in the fourth inning off of a single by McNamara, Cory Moore, Cullam and Umholtz.   Patrick Hart earned the win, he threw five innings, allowing two runs, six hits, and striking out two.  FM had ten hits in the game.  Paul VanWarner and Umholtz each collected multiple hits.   Moore, Umholtz,  McNamara, and Jake Petralia each drove in two runs.

Game Four

The Raiders wrapped up the series against the Twins with a 6-0 victory, behind another solid pitching performance from Richard Umholtz.  The Raiders secured the victory by scoring four runs in the fourth inning.  Umholtz went seven innings, surrendering zero runs, seven hits, striking out nine, and walking one. McNamara and Petralia each collected multiple hits, and Brogan Barker went 1-for-3 at the plate as he led the team with two runs batted in.

The Raiders hope to continue to stay in the mix for the Regional tournament, as they head into the final week of their regular season.  They will travel to Jefferson CC on Saturday, April 6th for a double header starting at 1:00 p.m.
