Baseball Splits With Hawks on the Road

The FM baseball team split with the Mohawk Valley Hawks on Tuesday.  The Raiders fell in the bottom of the 7th inning in game one, 5-4 and bounced back to win game two 4-2.

Noah Wygel went the distance for FM in game one.  He allowed 15 hits, five runs and struck out three. Offensively, FM had seven hits in the game.  Cory Moore went 2-3 at the plate including a triple and one RBI.  Benjamin McHarg also led the Raiders with two singles.   

The Raiders used a big 5th inning to secure a 4-2 game two victory.  Richard Umholtz homered to start the 5th, and Dan Parslow reached on an error, scoring Coby CaraballoKyle Sherlock hit a sacrifice fly to extend the lead 4-2.

Parslow secured the win on the mound for FM.  He surrendered just two runs on seven hits and struck out three.

Umholtz went 2-3 at the plate to lead the offense.

The Raiders will host the Hawks on Thursday to complete the four game series.  First pitch begins at 2:00 p.m.
