Raiders Offense Shines in Victories Over Hawks

FM baseball beat the MVCC Hawks at home on Thursday afternoon.  The offense came alive for the Raiders and won game one 15-3 and game two 14-2.

In game one Richard Umholtz had a big day at the plate to lead FM going 3-3, including a home run and 5 RBI's.  FM had a big first inning scoring 11 runs. 

Bradley Smith improved his record on the hill to 4-2.  He went five innings, allowing three runs on six hits and struck out three. 

The Raiders totaled 12 hits in the contest.  Cory Moore extended his hitting streak to twelve games with a triple and a single.  Joshua McCaffrey and Benjamin McHarg each had two hits.  Kyle Sherlock hit a two run home run.

In game two, the Raiders came back just as strong and put away the Hawks in five innings, 14-2. 

Richard Umholtz got it done on the mound to improve to 3-1 on the season.  He allowed just two runs on two hits, and struck out five. 

Kyle Sherlock led FM going 3-3 with 3 RBI's .  Andrew Marciniak went 2-2 at the plate with a home run and 2 RBI's.  Dan Parslow had two hits and 4 RBI's. 

FM moves to 12-4 in the Eastern Section Regional standings.  The Raiders are on the road this weekend against Jefferson and Adirondack and hope to lock up a spot in the Regional Tournament.
