Baseball Moves to 6-0 at Home

The FM Baseball team moved to 6-0 at home with a pair of wins against Jefferson on Tuesday.  On Thursday, the Raiders wrapped up the season series and fell on the road in both games.

The Raiders defeated the Cannoneers 9-7 in game one and 15-11 in game two.  In game one, Michael Brown got the win for FM going 6.1 innings, allowing five runs on nine hits.  Noah Wygel picked up the save securing the final two outs of the contest. Offensively, Joshua McCaffrey and William Newcomb led with two hits each and two RBI's.  

In the 15-11 win, Wygel came in to relieve Dan Parslow in the 2nd inning and earned the win.  Wygel allowed four runs on ten hits and struck out three.

McCaffrey and Newcomb both led the bats again with two hits each.  Parslow, Michael Brown, Alex VanDeusen and Wygel all had two RBI's.

In game three of the series at Jefferson, the Raiders fell in a close contest 5-3.  Michael Smith pitched well over six innings for FM allowing just three runs on seven hits.  The bats came up short for FM with five hits. McCaffrey led going 2-for-4 and Michael Reith, Newcomb and Julio Jimenez each pick up a hit.

In the final game, Jefferson won in walk off fashion 9-8.  Michael Reith went 2-for-2 at the plate, scoring twice and 2 RBI's.  Derek Lee and Brown finished with three RBI's.

Newcomb pitched six innings allowing five runs and striking out five.  VanDeusen came in in relief and took the loss for FM on three hits scoring three runs.

FM will host Cayuga Community College at home on Saturday, April 19th beginning at 12:00 p.m.
