The FM Men's Basketball team is known for giving the #1 Ranked Herkimer Generals a solid showing, and the Raiders showed up once again for another tough battle.  FM played the Generals down to the wire, but could not pull out the win.  The Raiders suffered a tough 63-60 loss.

FM started the attack right out of the gate as they never trailed in the first half.  The Raiders led by Ayodele Akinmola got off to a 17-5 lead half way through the half.  Herkimer dominated the final six minutes of the half outscoring the Raiders 14-6, but FM was able to maintain the lead 34-30 heading into the locker room. Akinmola led FM with 15 first half points.

The second half started out similar to the first as FM ran out to a 45-32 lead, but the Generals scored twelve unanswered points to cut the Raiders lead to just one with 12 minutes remaining.  Barceem Dukes kept the Raiders in the game with mutiple rebounds on both end of the court.  The next ten minutes both teams battled basket for basket and Herkimer got their first lead of the game 55-54 with six minutes remaining.  Akinmola would put the Raiders ahead for the last time 60-58 with 2:30 remaining in the contest.  The Generals would knock down 5 straight foul shots to go up by three with 7 seconds remaining, but FM was unable to get a final shot off.  Herkimer went on to win 63-60.

The Raiders next contest is Saturday when they travel to Mohawk Valley CC to take on the Hawks. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m.
