Raiders Win Home Opener

The men's basketball team hosted the Tompkins Cortland Panthers in the raiders den and FM got off to a quick start in the first half, which propelled them to a victory.

In the first half it was all FM as they jumped out to a 21-10 lead behind Nigel Hemingway and Kerome GrantDylan O'Connor made a three from the corner to put FM ahead 30-19.  FM maintained the lead and headed to the locker room up 43-21.  Hemingway led all scorers with 16 first half points and Grant had 9 first half rebounds.

Tompkins Corltand outscored the Raiders 8-3 within the first five minutes of the second half.  Dylan O'Connor ended the run with a three pointer and set the score at 52-30.  The Panthers used full court pressure to creep their way back into the game.  They used a 15-1 run to cut the FM lead to just six points, 62-56 with six minutes remaining in the game.  Dylan O'Connor quieted the Panthers run with back to back three pointers and the FM lead 69-56 with three minutes remaining.  The Raiders were able to settle down and get their first win of the season 81-70.

Hemingway and O'Connor led the way for FM with 21 points each.  Kerome Grant had a double double with 16 points and 16 rebounds. 

FM will be back in action tomorrow as they host Broome CC at home. Game time will start at 3:00 p.m.
