O'Connor Leads Raiders to Win on the Road

The men's basketball team traveled to the Schenectady YMCA to take on the Royals from Schenectady CC.  Dylan O'Connor finished with 25 points, including 5 three pointers to lead the Raiders to a 91-84 victory.

FM jumped out to an 11-4 lead behind a 3 point play from Kerome Grant.  O'Connor pushed the FM lead to ten as he drilled a three to set the score at 28-18.  With six minutes remaining, Schenectady was able to tie the score at 34 and take the lead 43-44 with 1:30 remaining.  Joaquin Scullark was able to convert on an offensive rebound put back to end the half with FM leading 49-46.

The Raiders dominated the start of the second half as they went on a 22-2 run, behind tenacious defense and hot shooting from Dylan O'Connor.  FM led 73-54 with 13 minutes remaining in the contest. 

Schenectady wouldn't go away as they forced FM turnovers and went on a 9-0 run to set the score at 86-82 with two minutes remaining.  The Raiders were able to hold on in the end and knock down foul shots to take the victory 91-24 on the road and improve to 5-3 on the season.

FM saw three other players score double figures.  Dante Morgan had 19, Nigel Hemingway had 17 and Kerome Grant followed with 15 points and 10 rebounds. 

The Royals' Samuel Frasier led with 25 points for Schenectady.

The Raiders will be off for a week and will travel to North Country CC for its next contest on Wednesday, December 7th
