The men's basketball team hosted the Lakers from Finger Lakes CC on Saturday afternoon. FM took care of business and defeated the Lakers 85-77.
Dylan O'Connor sank a three to put FM ahead 16-11 to start the contest. Finger Lakes tied the score at 27 with just 5 minutes remaining in the half. Each team traded baskets in the final minutes of the half, but Kerome Grant sank two free throws to put FM in the lead 36-35 heading into the half.
The Lakers took a quick lead to open up the second half 40-36. Ronald Rowe drilled a three pointer to put FM up 60-53. The Raiders had a balanced attack to finish out the half and O'Connor gave FM its largest lead 81-72 with 1:30 remaining on the clock. The Raiders sank free throws in the final minute to secure the win 85-77.
Kerome Grant led the team with 19 points and Ricky Santiago followed with 15.
FM will now be off until January 16th as they head into the mid-semester break. The Raiders finish the first half of the season with a 6-4 record and are 5th in the Region III standings.
