Raiders Offense Comes Alive in 117-83 Victory

The men's basketball team shot lights out in a 117-83 victory over the North Country Saints on Thursday night.  All nine players for the Raiders made the scoring column and shot 55% from the field as a team.

Kerome Grant led the way with 27 points, and Ricky Santiago had the hot hand as he shot 80% from the field, including 6 three pointers and had 23 points.  Dante Morgan and Nigel Hemingway each had 18 points.  

FM outscored North Country 58-37 in the first half.  Grant put FM in the lead 24-18 off of great passing from TiJuan Day, who had a breakout night with 11 assists and 9 points.  Ricky Santiago drilled two three pointers to extend the FM lead to 36-27.  Dante Morgan weaved his way to the rim for back to back baskets and extend the lead.  Santiago continued his hot shooting and sank two more threes to end the half and lead 58-37.

The Raiders continued their dominance in the second half and led 85-54 mid way through the half.  The FM defense continued to hold the Saints at bay in the second half.  Melik McLeod was high scorer for North Country with 14 points.

FM ended the night with their strongest showing of the season and look to build on the win as they head into the final stretch of the regular season.  The Raiders will travel to Clinton CC on Sunday and will head to Herkimer on Monday for a rescheduled contest with the Generals.  Both games are set for 3:00 p.m.
