Raiders Bow to Vikings

Raiders Bow to Vikings

The men's basketball team bounced back from a 49-30 halftime deficit against Hudson Valley on Wednesday night, but it wasn't enough as the Vikings pulled out the win.  FM falls to 13-9 on the season and have just two regular season games remaining.

The Vikings dominated the first half on the defensive end and FM could not get any offense going.  Hudson Valley went on a 15-0 run midway through the half and led 18-11.  Nigel Hemingway and Kerome Grant stopped the run and cut the Viking lead to 5 points, but Hudson Valley answered this time, with an 11-0 run.  FM headed into the locker room trailing 30-49 at the half.

Coach Collar's squad came out ready to play in the second half.  FM quickly scored 19 points within the first 8 minutes of play and closed the gap to just 9 points, 50-59.  Dante Morgan started to heat up from beyond the arc and made two three pointers and the Raiders were right back in the game 60-63.

That was the closest FM would get as Hudson Valley extended the lead to 10 points with 4 minutes remaining.  FM made it interesting in the final minute with back to back steals off of a full court pressure and cut it to 74-79, but The Raiders ran out of time as the Vikings won the contest 82-75.

Dante Morgan led with 20 points and 10 rebounds.  Kerome Grant followed with 19 points and 14 rebounds, and Brandon Cooper had 14.

Kevin Lenehan and Elijah Lott paced the Vikings with 20 and 17 points each.

FM will host the #1 seed Mohawk Valley CC tonight in the Raiders Den.  Tip is set for 7:00 p.m.
