Raiders Win Again in Overtime on Senior Day

Raiders Win Again in Overtime on Senior Day

For the second time in three days, the Men's Basketball team headed into overtime, and once again gutted out another win.  This time around, it was against the Columbia-Green Twins, and the Raiders came out on top 107-100 in their last regular season contest and finished the season with a 15-9 record heading into the postseason.

FM honored its four seniors before the contest for their commitment as student-athletes at Fulton Montgomery CC.  The four seniors included; Nigel Hemingway, Davrin Faison, Jr., Saquan Goland, and Dylan O'Connor

FM jumped out to a 51-46 first half lead behind Kerome Grant who led the Raiders with 29 points and 12 rebounds.  Tijuan Day extended the FM lead 71-64 with 10 minutes left to play.  The Twins answered with a 13-4 run and regained the lead 77-75 with 6 minutes to play.  FM trailed 84-87 with a minute to go when Ricky Santiago made a crucial three pointer to tie up the game.  Dante Morgan was fouled with 13 seconds remaining and he converted on two foul shots to send the game into overtime with both teams netted at 89.

The Raiders jumped out to a 93-89 lead in overtime and never trailed again.  Nigel Hemingway sealed the deal when he drilled a three pointer from the corner to put his team up 100-95.  FM was able to hold off the Twins for a 107-100 victory and head into the postseason on a high note.

Nigel Hemingway also scored in double figures with 22 points, along with Brandon Cooper with 14, Morgan with 12 and Dylan O'Connor with 11. Saquan Goland grabbed 11 rebounds.

FM's seeding is still yet to be determined, but they will play Corning, Herkimer or Onondaga in the first round of the Region III Tournament on the road on Tuesday.  FM has won four out of their last six games and hope to extend that streak into the postseason.
