The Men's Basketball team started their 2017-18 season with two losses, and since then they have reeled off six straight wins. Their latest victory came on Sunday when they defeated Finger Lakes 91-86 on the road.
Dante Morgan gave the Raiders an 18-15 on a made 3 point shot with 10 minutes left in the half. The Lakers cut the deficit to 25-27 with six minutes remaining, but Brandon Cooper had a strong end to the half and FM led 43-37.
Finger Lakes tied the game three minutes into the second half, 46-46. The Raiders trailed for the first time in the contest 65-64 with ten minutes remaining. The rest of the game remained close as both team traded basket for basket. Cooper hit a clutch three pointer to put FM up 83-76 with 4 minutes remaining. Jaleel Jean Jacques and Tyvon Stenson sank critical free throws down the stretch to secure the 91-86 victory.
Dante Morgan finished with 20 points and 6 assists. Cooper followed with 18 points and Jaleel Jean Jacques had a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
FM finishes the 2017 half of their season with a 6-2 record and is 5th in the Region 3 standings. FM will be off for the mid-semester break and will get back to action on January 9th when they host Cayuga at 7:00 p.m.
