The men's basketball team opened up the 2018 half of their season with another victory. FM defeated Hudson Valley 75-67 and improves to 7-2 on the season.
FM trailed 9-10 early in the first half, but Philbert Weeks and Dante Morgan sparked an 8-0 run to regain the lead, 17-12. With eight minutes remaining in the half, the Vikings went on a 10-0 run and held the Raiders scoreless for over four minutes. Morgan sank two free throws and a three pointer to end the drought and FM regained the lead 31-29. The Raiders would not trail again in the contest and ended the half leading 37-31.
In the second half, FM came out hot and took its largest lead of the game, 58-40. Hudson Valley would not go away as it cut the FM lead to 13 with ten minutes remaining. The Vikings cut the lead to just 9 points, but that was as close as they would get. The Raiders closed out the game with a 75-67 victory.
Dante Morgan led FM with 22 points and 9 rebounds and newcomer Chris Touissaint finished with 13 points.
FM's next contest will be Wednesday, January 24th. They will host Columbia-Greene at 7:00p.m.
