FM Propels Past Adirondack

The men's basketball team hosted Corning CC and Adirondack CC in a weekend double header.  On Saturday, FM lost in overtime to Corning, 75-82.  On Sunday, FM bounced back to beat Adirondack 83-65.

FM fell behind early against Corning who led 27-17 with five minutes remaining in the half.  Chris Toussaint and Tyvon Stenson cut the Red Baron's lead to eight points, 25-33 heading into the locker room. 

In the second half, the Raiders came out strong.  Brandon Cooper sparked a 7-0 run to put the score at 32-35.  Stenson drilled a three pointer with 12 minutes remaining to tie the score at 46.  Toussaint gave the Raiders their first lead of the game 59-58 with four minutes remaining.  Both teams traded baskets in regulation and sent it to overtime, deadlocked at 67. 

Corning jumped out to a 73-68 lead in overtime.  Cooper hit a three to pull within two, 73-75.  Corning's RaeQuan Scott hit a clutch three from the top of the key to put the game out of reach for FM.  The Raiders suffered an 82-75 loss.   

Chris Toussaint led the Raiders in scoring with 21 and Stenson followed with 14.

On Sunday, FM bounced back to beat Adirondack.  Jamal Vazquez sparked the Raiders off the bench to give them their first lead of the game 15-12.  Chris Toussaint scored seven straight points to put FM up 38-23.  Adirondack cut the lead to five, but FM closed out the half leading 46-38. 

The Raiders started the second half on a 12-0 run and take the lead 58-38.  The Timberwolves were able to pull within 14, but it wasn't enough as the Raiders closed out the game, 82-65.

Brandon Cooper led Fm with 18 points and Toussaint followed with 15.  Jaleel Jean Jacques had 10 points respectively.

FM's next contest will be on the road against Schenectady on Wednesday, January 31st
