The men's basketball team kept its post season run alive on Saturday, with a 101-94 victory over Cayuga Community College.  The Raiders didn't play their best game, but they found a way to win and advance to the Region III Championship game on Sunday.

FM struggled in the first half with foul trouble, but the Raiders bench stepped up and gave the Raiders a 50-41 lead at the half.

In the second half, FM extended their lead to double digits and led 74-60 with 11 minutes remaining.  The Red Barons caught fire and cut the deficit to just 85-83, with 5 minutes left.  The Raiders answered with an 8-0 run to close out the contest.

"We didn't play our best game, but found a way to win. Our guys showed tremendous resiliency after losing the lead and went on an 8-0 run to regain the lead and then finished strong to close out the game.  We need to come out with our best game tomorrow in the championship against Herkimer.  Hopefully, we can finish off this amazing run and win a championship from the 8th seed," said Collar.

Darren Demmitt led the Raiders with 19 points and Chris Toussaint followed with 17.  Dante Morgan had 15 and Amadou Diakite finished with 14.  Kobe Vaughan and Jaleel Jean Jacques rounded out the scoring for FM with 13 and 10 points.

FM's last Region III final appearance was in 2007 when they won the title, and they hope to do it again. The Raiders will travel back to Herkimer tomorrow to take on the #2 seeded Generals in a 2:00 p.m. matchup.
