Raiders Defense Sparks 80-62 Victory Over Broome

The men's basketball team stayed red hot with an 80-62 win over the Broome Hornets on Monday night.  The Raiders improve to 6-1 in Region 3 play with the victory. 

The Raiders trailed early in the contest, but Chris Toussaint converted on a three pointer to put FM up 21-16.  Broome went on a 14-0 run to take a 33-27 lead with five minutes left in the first half.  Jahmr Jordan sparked a 10-0 run for the Raiders and FM led 37-35 heading into halftime.

Coach Collar had his team come out with intensity in the second half.  On the defensive end, the Raiders picked it up and forced Broome turnovers.  FM held the hornets scoreless for the first five minutes and jumped out to a 53-37 lead.  The Raiders went on a 14-0 run and led 67-39 with 8 minutes remaining.  Broome was unable to recover and FM came out on top 80-62.

Amadou Diakite led the Raiders with 19 points, 7 assists and shot 44% from the field.  He has scored in double digits every game this season for FM and is averaging 16 points per game.  Juwan Malone finished with 16 points and 110 rebounds.   Jordan had 15 points and Toussaint finished with 14. 

The Raiders will travel to North Country Community College on Wednesday, December 5th for another Region 3 matchup.
