Raiders Fall To Herkimer

The men's basketball team hosted the Generals from Herkimer College on Thursday night. The Raiders had a strong start against the Generals, but were unable to close out the contest for the victory.

Mid-way through the first half, De'Vante Mateo sparked a 10-2 run and the Raiders led, 26-20. At the 7-minute mark in the first half, Herkimer went on a 9-0 run themselves to re-gain the lead 32-28.

At the half, FMCC trailed 39-35.

In the second half, Kennyh Hardeman and Mateo combined for 7 points to tie the game at 43 apiece. Jaisan Parker nailed a three pointer and the Raiders led 56-53 with 10 minutes remaining.

Herkimer would go on a 15-2 run and take the lead 68-58 with five minutes remaining. Nahjhime Kirton was able to cut it to within 6 points, but the Generals made key free throws to win, 78-65.

Kirton led FM with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Jelani Moreno finished with 14 points and Kennyh Hardeman had 10 points and 12 rebounds.

The Raiders will host the Hawks from Mohawk Valley on Saturday, November 19th. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
