Raiders Fall to Onondaga in Overtime

The Men's Basketball team hosted Onondaga on Saturday afternoon in a Region III match-up. The Raiders would force overtime, but would fall to the Lazers, 94-89.

FMCC had a strong start to the game. Jaisan Parker would pace the Raiders in the first half with 14 points and lead 45-36.

The Lazers chipped away in the second half. With ten minutes remaining in regulation, Onondaga would take the lead, 62-60.  

Onondaga would continue their hot shooting and extended the lead 76-68 with five minutes left. Jelani Moreno would spark a 9-2 run and the Raiders trailed by just two points. FMCC would close out the final two minutes on an 8-0 run to tie the game at 85 and force overtime.

De'Vante Mateo got the scoring going in overtime and led 87-85. The Onondaga defense forced a few turnovers and the lazers would close out overtime on a 9-2 run and secure the 94-89 victory.

The Raiders had six players in double-figures. Kennyh Hardeman finished with 17 points and 19 rebounds. Nahjhime Kirton tallied 16 points and 20 rebounds. Jelani Moreno notched 15 points, Jaisan Parker with 14 points, Jevonny Brown with 12 and De'Vante Mateo finished with 11.

The Raiders will close out the first half of their season on Wednesday, December 14th. They host Adirondack Community College at 6:00 p.m.
