The Men's Basketball team began their 2023 season over the weekend with a pair of non-conference road games.
On Saturday, FMCC took on the Roberts Wesleyan JV squad and came out on top, 87-61. Kennyh Hardeman led the Raiders with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Matej Gasevic with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Schumel Shepherd had 10 points and 6 assists and Donovan Rodriguez with 10 points.
On Sunday, The Raiders took on the Syracuse Bryant & Stratton Bobcats. Bryant & Stratton jumped out to a 34-29 halftime lead. In the second half, it was all Bobcats as they went on to defeat the Raiders 81-67.
Nick Butler led FM with 17 points and 3 assists. Schumel Shepherd had 13 points and 3 assists, Kennyh Hardeman recorded a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Donovan Rodriguez also had 13 points, including a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.
FMCC will begin Conference play on Tuesday, November 7th. The Raiders travel to take on the Hudson Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m.
