Men's Basketball Wins Weekend Pair

The Men's Basketball team extended their win streak to four games over the weekend. The Raiders picked up a win at Jefferson Community College on Saturday and defeated Tompkins Cortland at home on Sunday. They improve to 12-3 overall and 10-2 in the Region 3 standings and are currently in third place in the Region.

On Saturday, FMCC jumped out to a 61-39 halftime lead on the road against the Cannoneers. The Jefferson offense came alive in the second half, but it was not enough as the Raiders escaped with an 89-85 victory.

All five FM starters scored in double-figures. Nahjhime Kirton led with 20 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks. Schumel Shepherd added 18 points and Donovan Rodriguez with 17. Kennyh Hardeman tallied 12 points and 15 rebounds and Jordan Jackson chipped in with 12.

On Sunday, Tompkins Cortland invaded the Raiders Den on a six-game winning streak. The Raiders had one of their best showings of the season and routed the Panthers, 90-62.

Jordan Jackson led all scorers with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Schumel Shepherd had 18 points and Kennyh Hardeman with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Nahjhime Kirton collected 12 and Donovan Rodriguez with 10.

The Raiders will host four home games this week. They will kick things off against Clinton Community College on Tuesday, January 30th at 7 pm in The Raiders Den.
