The FMCC bowling teams competed twice over the weekend with positive results.

On Friday, the Raiders competed in their 3rd and 4th league matches at Pin-O-Rama lanes in Utica. The Men posted some of their best scores of the season and finished third in both events.  Freshman Bryan Green had a monster day with single scores in the first match of 257, 246, and 224 for a season high triple of 727.  Co-Captain Charlie Cusano posted a high triple of 664 with a high single of 265.  Other high singles were Brandon Little 218, Richard Taylor 213, Robert Ward 170, and David Servello 162.

Ward paced the Raiders in the second round with a high triple of 675 and a high single of 258. Next high triple was Richard Taylor with a 633 and a high single of 222. Brandon Little just missed a 600 with a 599 series and high of 214. Other high scores were Cusano with a 585, Green 531 and David Servello with a high game of 177.

On Saturday the Raiders traveled to Fishkill, New York to compete in the Westchester CC Shootout.  It was decided to take one mixed team which meant two of the females competed against males.  FMCC finished 6th out of 16 for the day.

"We were in 4th place most of the day but in the last full game both Penn St. and Cornell went ahead of us. Initially I was a little disappointed but our kids essentially bowled 14 games in a 24 hour period and that is a lot.  I think we got a little tired at the end", commented Coach Tom Rathbun. "It was a busy 24 hours but I think our kids benefited from the experience.  Additionally, three teams from our Mountain Valley Conference finished in the top 6, no other conference had two teams in the top 10. That speaks to just how competitive our conference is".

The Raiders will take a few days of well needed rest. They will compete next Saturday at the Royals Classic in Schenectady at Boulevard lanes.
