FM BOWLERS TAKE 2ND IN NAILBITER

The FM Bowling team battled it out with MVCC on Tuesday for the Conference Championship and the Hawks from MV prevailed by the narrowest of margins. MV won the first 3 game block, FM won the second 3 game block, so the Conference would be decided by a single game, Baker style format. While the Raiders posted a very respectable 190 game, MV was just a little better, posting a 212 to earn the title.

Captain Evan Sawitzki set a new school record for a single high game of 280. He also posted the third highest triple in school history with a 694. Andrew Bauer posted some high scores as well, 255, 211, and 207. Justin Hulbert had a 211 and a 203. Korey Davis needed to register 2 strikes and at least a 9 in the 10th frame to secure the win in the second block and ended up getting 3 strikes. Kadence Kennedy continues to improve each time out and will be an asset to the team next year.

"I'm really proud of the way they performed today. They could have packed it in after losing the first block but instead they bowled their best 3 game set of the year to force a roll off.  They can be proud of themselves and now look forward to a little revenge at Regionals next weekend. This is good group," state Coach Tom Rathbun.
