Soccer Earns First Victory of Season

The men's soccer team secured their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory on the road over Hudson Valley Community College.  Patrick Palmer scored the lone goal at the 26th minute of the contest.

The Vikings had a scoring opportunity in the first half, but the ball hit off the high post and Hudson Valley secured the rebound which was stopped by FM Goal Keeper Jason Meneses.  The Vikings scored in the second half, which was called off for offsides.  Daniel Leach and the Raider defense held the HVCC offense at bay.

The Raiders tallied 16 shots in the game, with 6 of those on goal.  Meneses was solid in the net with 10 saves.

FM will travel to Herkimer on Saturday, September 7th.  The Raiders will take on the Generals at 12:30 p.m.
