The men's soccer team hosted the #4 Nationally ranked Mohawk Valley Community College soccer team on Saturday afternoon in less-than-ideal weather conditions.
The Raiders came out ready to play as they were firing on all cylinders. Marvin Koceku struck first off a pass from Curtis Arnold as he broke free behind the defense for a quick 1-0 lead.
The Hawks tied it up at 1-1 when there was a keeper rebound in the box and they were able to get it past Jose Atilio de Oliveira to tie it up at 1 apiece.
Koceku kept the momentum going and scored his 7th goal of the season before the end of the half to go up 2-1. Aidan MacLagan was credited with the assist.
In the second half, FMCC locked down on defense. They had one defensive mishap, but Atilio de Oliveira was able to make a brilliant diving save to keep the Hawks off the board.
FMCC secured a big 2-1 win for the program and now move to a 5-4 record on the season. They will travel to Hudson Valley on Wednesday to take on the Vikings at 4:00 p.m.
