The Lady Raiders softball team is ready to get outside and eager to begin the 2019 season. The 11-member squad has been practicing in the Raiders Den and the team is showing a lot of positives.

Head Coach Brittany Krywulych has been working with the squad on general skills and team communication. "In preseason we have been working hard to form and gel as a team.  With only three returners, the girls are learning what our strengths and weaknesses are. Every day we are getting stronger as a unit.  Every player plays a major role on this team and with the skill level that we have, there is a lot of potential to be successful this season," said Krywulych.

Returning players include Emily Washburn, Marque Pacillo, and Sam De La Fleur.  Washburn looks to lead the FM offense once again this season and De La Fleur will see a lot of time in the circle for the Lady Raiders.

FM adds a good mix of local newcomers; Juliana Buyce (Mayfield), Alexandria Benfatti (Gloversville), Mallory Baldwin (Johnstown), Sierra Logan (Fort Plain), Lyndsay Siudy (Amsterdam), Anganese Gomez (Fort Plain), Christiana Colon (Amsterdam), and Juliet Sear (Johnstown).  They will all look to play a major role in the lineup this season.

"We have a strong offensive lineup, but our true test is working together defensively and holding our opponents to minimal runs each game.  Keeping and maintaining a positive attitude on the field will be our main priority to winning and competing this season," said Krywulych.

FM looks to start their season on Saturday, March 30th at home against Cayuga CC.  The first game will begin at 1:00 p.m.
