Lady Raiders Corral Lady Broncos

 

JOHNSTOWN – The conference-leading Lady Raiders continued their winning ways on Saturday afternoon. The FM Five ran past the visiting Lady Broncos of SUNY Delhi, winning 87-43.  Every Lady Raider saw action, and 12 FM players scored.

Senior guard Kendra Jordan played another strong game and tallied 15 points. Monae Abrams, as usual, was a force inside and contributed 17 points.

FM controlled the game from start to finish. The hosts jumped out to a 13-2 lead and were never seriously challenged by the visitors. FM led 38-23 at the half.

Head Coach Kevin Jones' team is currently ranked second among the 15 teams in Region 3. The region has three conferences. FM is one of the eight eastern NY teams in the Mountain Valley Conference.

The Lady Raiders are now 15-3 overall and own a 9-1 Mountain Valley Conference mark. They are alone atop the standings. The second-place teams are Mohawk Valley and Schenectady, both with 6-3 conference records. An improved Hudson Valley is right behind them at 6-4.

The Lady Raiders will next travel to Herkimer CCC for a 5:00 p.m. tilt on Wednesday, Feb. 5. Their next home game will be their final home appearance of the season when they host Mohawk Valley on Sunday, Feb. 9. Tip time for that contest is 1:00 p.m.
