TROY – The Lady Raiders posted a convincing win at Hudson Valley CC on Saturday, defeating the Lady Vikings 72-45.

The visitors quickly adjusted to the spacious surroundings of Hudson Valley's McDonough Sports Complex, and led 22-8 at the 10-minute mark. FM used a balanced attack to take control of the contest.

The home team kept pace with FM for the first few minutes of play. FM freshman Abby Boyer then completed a three-point play, giving the Lady Raiders an 11-8 lead. The visitors led the rest of the way.

FM sharpshooter Evanda Redwood drove through the paint and scored with less than one second remaining in the half. The Lady Raiders led 37-18 at the break. Redwood went on to lead all scorers with 21 points.

Three Raiders tallied double-doubles: Redwood (21-12), Stephanie Rice (14-13) and Boyer (14-12). Lady Vikings My'Asia Alston (13-14) and Sierra Sangetti-Daniels (13-10) also had double-double games.

The win raised FM's record to 11-5 overall and 6-2 in the Mountain Valley Conference. Head Coach Kevin Jones' squad is in third place in the nine-team MVC. The conference leaders are North Country CC (6-0) and Mohawk Valley (6-1).

The Lady Raiders' next game will be a non-conference matchup with Corning CC on Monday, January 19. Their next home game will be on January 28 when they host Schenectady CCC.
