Lady Raiders Edge Adirondack Timberwolves

The Lady Raiders traveled to Adirondack Community College to take on a much improved Timberwolves team.  FM was able to edge by Adirondack for their first Mountain Valley Conference Victory by a score of 58-47.

FM's Rylie Smith got things started for the Raiders with a three pointer off the glass for three of her game high 20 points.  Adirondack answered right back with a basket from Brittni Sardina.  From there the Raiders went on a 9-0 run to put the score at 12-2, but the Timberwolves wouldn't go away.  Adirondack answered with back to back three pointers which cut the FM lead to three points.  Adirondack hurled up a quarter ending three, but got fouled and were able to tie the score at 15 going into the second quarter. 

The second quarter both teams were playing basket for basket.  Rylie Smith drilled another three pointer to tie the game at 20.  Adirondack scored four points, but Grant scored and Smith ended the half with another three to put her team up 30-27. 

FM started the third quarter on 6-0 run, but Adirondack ended the quarter on a 5-0 run.  FM's lead was just seven points going into the final quarter.  FM started the quarter on an 8-0 which pushed ther lead to 53-38.  Adirondack was able to outscore the Raiders 9-2 in the final minutes, but it wasn't enough to beat the Lady Raiders.  FM won the game 58-47. 

FM improves to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference.  They will travel to Jefferson CC tomorrow for a Region 3 Game at 1:00 p.m.
