The Lady Raiders Basketball team hosted Cayuga Community College in a Region III Matchup.  FM went on to win the contest 71-51.

The Raiders got off to a quick 9-0 behind the scoring of freshman forward My'eesa Grant.  Grant scored five straight point and Abby Boyer added four points to put FM ahead 9-0.  Cayuga scored two three pointers by Najhea Thompson to cut the FM lead to 11-6.  Grant ended the quarter with eight more points and 13 total first quarter points to put the Raiders up 21-11. 

Cayuga opened up the second quarter with the first score and were able to cut the lead to ten.  Moet Jenkins attacked the rim for two quick buckets, and set her teammates up for open looks.  The half
 ended with FM leading by 22 points and the score 40-18.

The third quarter started with two made foul shots by My'eesa Grant.  Cayuga answered with a layup and another three by Thompson and the score 42-23.   Cayuga went on a 7-0 run to cut the FM lead to 14.  Abby Boyer answered with a jump shot and put the score at 47-31 with 3:30 to go in the 3rd quarter. Boyer ended the quarter with a three from the corner and pushed her teams lead to 19 points with a 53-34 score.

The final quarter started with a steal and bucket by Rylie Smith, followed with a layup by Rebecca Shepard.  Cayuga would not back down as they were able to get defensive stops and cut the lead to 14 points with 3:38 remaining in the game. The Raiders were able to settle down and dominate the rest of the quarter and go on to win 71-51.

The Raiders next game will be Sunday, November 15th at 1:00 p.m.  FM is set to host Onondaga Community College in the Raiders Den.
