Lady Raiders bested by #2 Ranked Onondaga Lazers

The FM Women's Basketball Team suffered their first loss of the season to the Lazers of Onondaga Community College.  The Onondaga CC women's basketball team remained undefeated by a score of 88-67 on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Raiders are now 4-1.

OCC got off to a quick 5-0 start and led the rest of the game.  Sabriana Franck got the Raiders on the board to cut the lead to 5-2.  The Lazers used sharp shooting to quickly go ahead 15-4.  Moet Jenkins and Kaina Martinez scored to set the score at 17-9.  OCC was able to close out the quarter with a 3 point play and a 23-14 lead.  In the second quarter the FM players worked hard, but could not keep pace with the Lazers.  My'eesa Grant and Riley Smith scored six straight points to end the half, but OCC's seven first half three pointers pushed their lead to 16. The half ended with a 47-31 score.  

My'eesa Grant and Moet Jenkins started the thirs quarter with scores, but the Lazers were able to answer with eight straight points.  Kaina Martinez ended the run with a three point play.  Onondaga made foul shots and pushed the lead to 68-49.  Grant started the fourth quarter by converting a three point play.  Onondaga dominated the rest of the quarter and came out on top with a 88-67 win. 

FM is off for the week and is scheduled to travel to play Adirondack Community College on Saturday, November 21st.
